Overview
The 1898 Dawes Roll "Plus" indexes the 1898 roll of 36,714 names and contains a vast amount of information about each enrollee. The Dawes Roll recorded those who were members of the Cherokee Nation upon its dissolution in 1898 and today serves as a basis for the membership rolls in the Cherokee Nation. This volume includes information such as ages, quantum, addresses, relationships, Miller Roll number, surname changes by marriage, divorce and adoption.
About the Author: Bob Blankenship is Eastern Band Cherokee and is serving his sixth term as a Tribal Council Member. He is publisher of five books on Cherokee genealogy and is the President of the Museum of the Cherokee Indians.
