Cherokee Roots: Western (Volume 2)
SKU: cp050w
|
Overview
This volume indexes those Cherokee living west of the Mississippi River, and were recorded on the following Cherokee rolls: Old Settler Roll (1851), Drennen Roll (1852), The Dawes Rolls (1898-1914), and the western portion of the Guion Miller Roll (1909). If you are looking for your Cherokee ancestors on the rolls, this is a must have.
About the Author: Bob Blankenship is Eastern Band Cherokee and is serving his sixth term as a Tribal Council Member. He is publisher of five books on Cherokee genealogy and is the President of the Museum of the Cherokee Indians.
ATC Recommendation: This book is an excellent start if you are researching Cherokee roots in Oklahoma. The book is just an index, and will require additional research into your family tree, but it's a handy reference for looking up your ancestors and trying to find that link to the rolls. ~Christina Berry, All Things Cherokee
