Query: Any response to either of these Queries? I am communicating with some of Tillie’s grandchildren who know some of the details of this story.

Query: We are looking for any information on two sisters and one brother that were given to a family in Jones County Mississippi. The name of the family was LANDRUM. The man’s name was James LANDRUM. One of the sisters name was Queen Tillie (LANDRUM) and the other sisters name was Vermell (LANDRUM). The brothers name is unknow and he died at a early age after going to the LANDRUMs. We believe the children came from the Carolinias. Their parents died due to a fever that pasted throught the reservation. Queen Tillie married Wilton PITTS and Vermell married James D. KNIGHT. Both sisters lived their lives in Jones County.

Query: CLAY, Rebecca Ann – b. 1843

I am looking for any additional information about my ancestor, Rebecca Ann CLAY. She was born in 1843 in Tennessee and resided with the YANDLE (sp?) family in Wilson County, TN in 1850. She was still living with William and Jane YANDLE at the age of 18 in 1860. She married Woodson EAKES in 1862 and they had 8 children. One of the children was named Rachel Tennessee EAKES. That is my great great grandmother on my father’s side.

I am looking for information about Rebecca Ann CLAY‘s birth parents, as the history is told that she was adopted by the YANDLE family, and that she may have been Cherokee Indian. Anecdotal history claims that she had 2 brothers that stayed with the Cherokee tribe.
