Query: I understand that Pumpkintown is a Native American reservation in NC. Does anyone have any information on the connection between Native American marriages with white settlers in the 1700 & 18oo’s & either the Frady family or Chastain family? Thanks

Query: I am looking for John Cory who was my great grandfather, he was 100% Cherokee somewhere in Oklahoma. He owned alot of land and married a white woman and his family didn’t approve, which led them to Indiana. Her name was Frances Victoria. I know about the land becuase my Grandmother Mary Elizabeth McCaffrey recieved monies when my great grandfather died. I am guessing early 1900’s. If anyone has any information on the above I would really appreciate it. I just found this information out and I am very proud to be part Cherokee. My great grandfather may not have been John Cory, there may have been a name change since his family didn’t approve of my great grandmother. but I am hoping his Cherokee name was in fact, John Cory.
