She died in Batesville, Arkansas, and is buried in the pleasant valley cemetary in independence county Arkansas. She married a mr. Noah O’neal Sisk and had 8 children: erma, joyce, noah, randall, sharon, eric, ramona, and “tootie”. She was of cherokee decent, and my grandfather (her husband) was cree and blackfoot. According to family records, she would have been between 7/8 and 5/6 cherokee. However, since our ancestors were discedents, and did not go to the reservations, we do not have any record of my grandmother’s birth. Query: Looking for information on my great-grandfather, Charles James “Charley” Morehead, born 1877 unknown, died 1966 Sardis, Ohio. Great-Grandpa was half Indian, we were always told Cherokee. The story goes his father or grandfather (Owing to the surname, I suspect it was his maternal grandfather) was one of seven brothers who “refused to go to the reservation.” This would appear to refer to the roundup for the “Trail of Tears.” The story goes on that this ancestor became intoxicated one night and fell asleep on a railroad track and was run over by a train. I found a notcie of Great-Grandpa’s divorce decree of 1905 in Weakley County, Tennessee, so that narrows the geography somewhat. My genealogical research is stymied until I can learn more about Great-grandpa’s parents and connections; there were some skeletons in the closet then, it seems, and the family never talked about it. No one currently living knows anything. Without this knowledge, I don’t even know where to start looking. Can anyone help?

Query: I am tracing my famly history and am having a bit of trouble. I know that on both sides of my family about 2 genrations back there are full blooded indians in both the blackfoot and the cherokee tribes. On my dad’s side my great grandmother is blackfoot, and one of my mom’s grandparents was cherokee. If anybody could help me find names it would be most usefull and enjoyed, since I really don’t know a whole lot.
