Query: I’m searching for my GGG Grandfather Enoch Rose, his father was Frank Rose and mother Dashie his wife was Sarah Sally Bowling and their son Henry Clay Bowling. I did find another inquiry from 8/2000 but the link didn’t work. My family said that Frank Rose was a Cherokee Cheif from North Carolina. I really want to learn more about them and why the didn’t keep the Rose name I know that Sarah and Enoch were married. Enoch was born before 1799. Any information would be very appreciated.

Query: I am looking for info on my gg grandfather William H Thompson that married Rebeckie Rhods. Their children were William R born Dec 25, 1850 and Gaston born after that. They also had a son John? born in 1848. Both were born in NC according to the death certificate of William R. Story is that they were in the NC mountains and William R and brothers would come down to port in Wilmington NC to do trading. I have info on William R and his 2nd wife and family, but not his 1st wife the mother of 2 of his children, stephen and Nora. William H and Rebeckie would have to have been born before 1840. Query: Sarah Murry born July 1842 in Georgia. She married William Reed of Kentucky. Sarah’s family is Cherokee. They escaped the “Trail of Tears” and hid in the Appalachian Mountains of lower East Tennessee. We know William and Sarah had at least four daughters and one son. One of the four daughters is Lucendia Marie Reed who married Monroe M. Burrows 30 November 1888 in Walker County Georgia. Monroe and Lucendia moved to Hamilton County Tennessee. They had at least eight children; Three daughters and five sons. I am looking for information on Sarah Murry and her ancestors, as well as William Reed and his ancestors.
