Query: Looking for the “real” parents of Lucretia Green CAMPBELL. No her mother was not a Cherokee princess and no her father was not a chief. She and her husband Adam CAMPBELL are buried at Smith Lake in Alabama. I’ve seen various stories about her being hiding and such written on the net. The stories my family tells is when she died she was not allowed to be buried in Blount County Alabama because she was Indian. Adam took her body across the county line and buried her by what is now Smith Lake Dam.

Query: My ggg grandfather was James SHOOK and he was Cherokee by blood. He was not admitted on the Dawes Rolls due to he died. 4 of his children were accepted. He had one more daughter that would of been my gg grandmother Elizabeth SHOOK. She was Elizabeth HARRIS and she did enroll but she died before the she was approved. My GGG Grandfather fought hard to be on the rolls for his children. The court documents say the evidence said he was Cherokee by blood. The family cannot get on the tribal rolls due to this. But we have proof from the court that he was Cherokee by blood. He applied around 1896 and was drawing strip money. Can this be reversed?

Query: I am trying to do a family tree. Rumor has it my husband’s grandmother’s side is supposed to be Native American, either Cherokee or Mohawk. Maiden name is Vernie Ethel WHITE. DOB 4/1/1911 in Roane county WV dod 11/2005 Hinsdale, NY. Her parents are supposed to be Edward WHITE dob 4/17/1876 Roane co WV dod 2/11/1969 Washington co, OH and Lily/Lilliam Florence SHORT dob 3/3/1884 Kanawha WV dod 9/5/1957 Ross co OH. I found them in OH in 1930 but Ethel wasn’t with them, she would have been only about 19 at the time. Edward’s parents are Timothy Waiteman WHITE dob 3/19/1837 Logan co VA dod 5/14/1911 Roane co WV and Elizabeth JUSTICE dob 11/1842 Pike county KY dod 1924 Roane co WV. It is supposed to be the JUSTICE line that is Indian. Any assistance in determining the validity of the rumor, which tribe, and which side it actually runs through would be greatly appreciated.
