Query: I am looking for information in regard to Dora King. I know she is listed in the Dawes Rolls and that her ID is 441M; but unfortunately I do not know where to go from here. I desperately want to track down my indian ancestry and know my heritage. I am told that I have 3 different types if indian blood in my family; but that the Cherokee blood is most prominent. I have joined Ancestry.com to try and look Ladora up by her ID# but I don’t even see that as an option. If anyone has any information, or can help me with finding her via the Dawes Rolls, please email me.

Query: I am at it again – and hope this one doesn’t end up next to all the others I have submitted over the past year or two. I am trying to find a “roll” or listing that I found once. It was a listing on the left side of the screen that had names and other information, listed a line at a time. I was searching for Juriah Day (reported to be a full blooded Cherokee woman) b. 1799? in Wilkes Co., N.C. who married David Collins 11 Jan, 1822 in Barborville, Knox Co., KY. They had a daughter named Ruhaney Collins, b.10/20/1822 in Marion Co., IN near or in Indianapolis, IN. The list I had found had both, listed more than once, in columnar form. Both had the letter “I” in front of their names. Juriah and Ruhaney are the furthest back ancestors of my wife that we have found. I had made a diskette of the list, but have lost it, and a crash removed all other reference to the “roll”. Can anyone help me. I would love to be able to find the parents of Juriah, for my wife. She is a member of the Ozarks Saponi tribe in West Plains, Howell county, MO. and we would like to confirm the added Cherokee relationship. Thanks, and we share information!

Hattie was born in 1884 in Swain County, N.C. She married Jesse Burton Wiggins (under her maiden name of Lamb)in 1902 in Swain county,N.C. Query: Ulysses Rogers Born abt 1823 in New Albany, Bradford County, PA married Zilpha Rogers who was born abt 1827. I cannot find any information on their marriage nor where they are buried. Zilpha, I have been told was a Native American, maybe Iroquois or Cherokee. I found someome by same name in Dawes Book on Cherokee Nation and said she left tribe at 19 yrears old, not sure if same person. She would be my Great, Great Grandmother. Evidently the family hid her native American Ancestry in shame as no one ever spoke of this and become annoyed with me as I pursue it. I stumbled on it from a man in New Era, PA. who told me his Great, Great Grandmother and Zilpha Rogers were both Iroquis and they were friends. Ulysees Rogers I also can not find records on. They had a daughter named Mary Emily Rogers, Born Aug. 1858 in Terrytown, Bradford County, PA. and died May 7, 1929 and is buried at Methodist Church Cemetery in New Era, Bradford County, PA. I have visited the graves and can verify this. This is where I met the man who told me about the American Indian Ancestry. His family is buried there also and he has lived in New Era all his life. The church records are lost. Mary Emily Rogers married James M. Covey, born 26 May, 1854 at New Era, PA. and is also buried in same cemetery. They had a Son named James Adolphus Covey, born 2 Oct 1888, in New Era, Bradford County. PA. and died 26 Oct, 1957 at Sayre, PA. My Grandfather. Mary Emily Rogers raised Herbs as did her Mother, Zilpha Rogers and provided all of the family with medicine. In New Era the Covey Farmand Covey Road still exist. I cannot find where Ulysees Rogers or his wife Zilpha Rogers are buried as have searched all cemeteries in this area. Also, cn not find a maiden name for Zilpha. My ancestry stops dead there. I am not a genealogist and am 72 years old and at this point can not travel so nowo reaching out on internet. Thank you for your time reading this and I know you know how much I appreciate any of your time.
