Query: I have cancer for a second time. I conquered Stage IV (terminal) 6 years ago. I have a strong spirit. I will again this time too. It has been said that my ancestors were of Cherokee descent. Those in my family that said they had pictures or proof, have long since passed. I have, all my life, been curious about the validity of this information. A day will come, when I will see the line of my people before me, and I will have my answers. Until then, is there anyone out there that may have insight on this now? Is it true? Here’s my tree: RANSOM NICHOLS SR./PHEBE GILLIAN (born 1790 in North Carolina & 1793; both died 1858 in Stone Co. Arkansas) their son, RANSOM “RANCE” NICHOLS/MARY BILMORE (born 1828 Alabama & 1839 Arkansas; Ransom died 1863 in Little Rock, Arkansas) their son, LEVI NICHOLS/AMANDA ESTES ( born 11-11-1858 Blue Mt. Logan Co., Arkansas & 3-3-1860? Georgia; died 10-30-1946 Thomasville, Missouri & 5-8-1948 Miami, Oklahoma) their daughter, ANNA ELIZABETH NICHOLS/ HENRY E. WILLARD ( born 1-31-1879 Izard Co., Arkansas & 11-26-1873 Rover, Missouri; died 2-25-1965 & ?) their son, WILLIAM PAYTON WILLARD/ ADDIE INEZ FRENCH (born 6-23-1898 Rover, Missouri & 7-16-1899 Roshkonong, Missouri) their son, EUGENE C. WILLARD / RUTH E. BERRY (born Michigan), their daughter, me. Does anyone know anymore about the ancestry of the line of people before me & if it includes a Native American descent? Thank you.
