Children are: Hettie Humphreys born around 1892-1893 in TN, Jeane Humphreys born around 1893-1894 in TN, Lucy Humphreys-Ward born 1896-1897 in TX, Cordia Humphreys born Nov 1903 in TX, Velma Humphreys born around 1908-1909 in TX (see 1910 census Navarro Co. TX). Cordia lost contact with her family. I believe her father W.W Humphreys is buried in Navaro Co. because he wasn’t in Tennessee with them in 1920 when the census was taken. Onie’s father was born in Tennessee and her mother was born in Mississippi as was Onie herself.

My grandfather died when dad was young and my grandmother took two boys (Tom Kellams and Bob Kellams) to the reservation in Canada. In 1897, Elizabeth Twigg conceived a child Amelia Elizabeth Gouse, my grandmother. On an uncertain date Amelia E. Gouse’s parents died and she was put into a Christian foster home, said foster parents were called Rhoads whom lived in Cumberland County, Pennsylvania. In 1912 Amelia E. Gouse married my grandfather Albert Jackson. In 1913 Amelia E. Gouse conceived a child my mother Alice Jackson. Amelia E. Gouse died in 1965 and is buried in Marysville, Pennsylvania. I am looking for info on where my great grandmother was from (state) and dates that are uncertain to our Cherokee genealogy.

Mable and Glen lived in Arkansas where most if not all 9 of their children were born. My mother Mary Jane was born in Springdale. They also lived in Oklahoma and California. Query: Sloane/Slone/Sloan: I am researching information on my grandmother Parthina S. Sloane Francis. I’m not sure of the spelling of her maiden name. She was a full blooded Cherokee. Parthina was born in 1902 in either Kentucky of West Virginia. I have no information whatsoever on her parents or siblings. She was married to Solomon “Sol” Francis. From what my aunts have told me she had at least ten children but only four of them are still living. The children I have names for are: Geraldine Francis Duncan passed away in 1994 she lived in Garrett, Ky; Shirley Francis Skidmore of Newark, Ohio; Buelah May Francis Shannon of Newark, Ohio; Fannie Jean Francis Small of Buckeye Lake, Ohio; and my father Perry Francis of Hebron, Ohio. My grandparents moved to Ohio when my father was just a boy. My dad was the baby of the family. He was born Sept. 7, 1945. My grandmother passed away in 1974. She was in a diabetic coma and never came out of it. She is buried in Wilson Cemetery in Licing County, Ohio. From what little my father has told me he said that most of the children that died had been sick with shingles and things like that.
