After both parents were killed, she was adopted by Methodists. About 1862 or 1863 she gave birth to Lular Ford in Cherokee, Alabama. She taught Lular to speak Cherokee. Lular and Catherin moved to Tenessee and Lular married Bill Burkett. I welcome any info about Catherin’s parents, brothers or sisters.

Query: James Claiborne McNair: Possible date of birth of August 24, 1822. This person my great great grandfather is told to have been taken from the Trail of Tears near St. Joe Arkansas. He was adopted Jack McNair from the tribe while in route the Cherokee Co. to be settled by the government. His original point of departure onto the trail was believed to be Mississippi or Florida.

Query: Long, Nathen – Nathen lived in or near Davidson County (Winston-Salem) NC c1904 and was Cherokee. He met Lillian Nifong and they had my Grandfather out of “wed-lock” in c1904. (My Grandfather was Roscoe W. and changed his name to Ray W.) Rumor is that Nathen died of fever 1904 or 1905. Lillian Nifong later married Frank Snider who raised my Grandfather. I am trying to find my Great Grandfather Nathen Long. I have not found his name among the cemetery records of Davidson county nor any birth records.
