Query: Looking for information on surname Sisco, Cisco, Scisco, or Francisco, linked with Cherokee Trail of Tears. Turner Sisco married Tabitha Ray and their first born Lewis Calvin Sisco was born 1836 in Bradley Co., TN, possible Red Clay Township. Next child was my ancestor James Francis Sisco born 1840 in Cape Garuardo Co., Missouri. I would like to know if Turner was part of the military relocation team or if his mother was perhaps an Indian, It is said we have Cherokee blood but I have yet to prove that. We have also never been able to prove who Turner Sisco’s parents are. Census records have shown him as Sisco, Cisco, Scisco. He was born approx 1815 in TN, his father born NC. We know Tabitha (Ray) Sisco’s heritage. Please reply if you have any information.

Query: My grandfather’s name was Wood Nash. His father was John David Nash, but I don’t know his mother’s name. From what he told my dad, his only son who is also named John David Nash, Wood’s maternal grandmother was a Cherokee woman named Morning Star. When he was a boy, Wood’s grandmother told him about when she was a girl and came west with her family on the trail of tears (although she didn’t call it that). I am trying to find out more about her and her family.

Query: I am searching for anyone who knows anything about the indians that lived on Monteagle Mountain in Tennessee. My great grandfather was John Pack and my grandfather was Joseph (Joe) Pack. They were my link to my Cherokee Indian heritage. Unfortunatley I have little to go on, because of few records kept, the burning of a record building long ago, etc. It is a family legend that we had people who traveled and returned from the Trail of Tears and that I have great uncles (brothers of my grandfathers) that I never knew. I am interested in finding anyone from our family line. I know we are kin to the Baker’s, Garner’s, and O’Deer’s. I will try to post dates later. I am not sure right now. I was told my great great grandmother was full cherokee. Anyone know how to track that?

Query: I am researching my gr-gr-grandmother’s family to try to find a link to the Cherokee nation. She was born in Tenn in abt. 1825 and her name was Mary Alice BROWN. I do not know her parents. She married Henry Harrison MILLS and at some point moved to Gonzales County, TX. then later to Dilley, Frio Co. Texas. They died in Dilley in 1906 and 1910. They had several children. Query: Been researching the names; Black and Taft in my Native American search. I do not even know if I am searching the right tribe, I have had NO help from family. Have found many cousins on the web confirming NA blood, and says we are Blackfoot and Cherokee in there somewhere. I have been searching for 20 years to be able to just say what tribe I am from.
