Query: My grandfathers name was WILLIAM KING BALDWIN. He was born in Indian territory in Oklahoma. Only knowing that his father was a medicine man, back in the 1870’s. I don’t know where to go for more information. It was believed, he was living at Saline, Arkinsaw, when he went out on rounds on a white horse, carrying a black medicine bag, but never returned. My grandfathers mother, decided to take he and his three brothers and one sister to Fort Worth Tx to be with her family living there. As she traveled she became ill and died near Bowie Tx. The year 1888, when camped near the Red River at the crossing. It was also thought her name to be BONIE, I dont know if this is her first name or maiden name. The children where adopted by familys in the Montique area. What I am looking for is my great great grand mothers family. It was known she had two brothers living at Fort Worth, Tx. They where Indian scouts, other than that, nothing is known about her family just that she was Indian. My grandfather was full blood Cherokee. If anyone has any information about this family. Please send information to me at pwebber123@hotmail.com
