Query: I would like to know about a Native American that meet my Great Grandmother and ended up having a child together. This child would be my Grandmother Marion Cutting. Although, I myself do not know much about my Grandmothers past, I do know that she was named after her father which is believed to be a Native Amerian. Her brothers and sisters all had beautiful blue eyes because her mother and the only fahter she knew had blue eyes. However, she was blessed with dark, dark brown eyes with dark hair that turned a silver white before she turned twenty years old. That is about all that I know about my Grandmother’s past. Oh yes, and one more thing, there was a comment made by her father one day that he was not her actuall father but an Indian’s child. That is all I know. If anyone could help me trace down my Natice American Ancestor it would be wounderful.

Query: I’m searching for the Cherokee roots of my ggg grandfather William W. King of Hall County, GA. William was full Cherokee, but I don’t know about his wife. Born in 1823, he married Tempe Hulsey and had 7 children, including my gg grandfather Isaac C. King, who was the Lula, GA, schoolteacher during the late 1800s. It’s possible that William’s parents were Isaac and Catharine King of Rabun County, GA, but I don’t know whether this Isaac, listed in census records, is Cherokee. They had a number of children, almost all of whom seemed to disappear by the 1860 census, when Isaac and Catherine appeared in Gilmer living near two children. Then everyone disappeared from record by 1870. William W. began his family in the 1850s, but didn’t appear in the Hall County census until 1870. I have not found any vital records on anyone in the family. William W. and Tempe, and their son, Isaac and his wife Ann Patterson, are all buried at Timberidge Baptist Church in Lula, GA. Any information on the King family in Hall, Rabun or Gilmer counties of Georgia, or around Pendleton, SC, would be greatly appreciated.

I have a connection to fields, Barbee, Baker, Martin, Cannon, Faulkner, Allan, Gibson, Toney, Henderson, and a few more. I was so tickled to find out about the Adair’s and the York.
