Query: Looking for information on greatgrandfather name T.J. Kirkpatrick was married to a Rasa Lee Kirpatrick. T.J. died in Gilmer TX in 1961 Rosa died in 1924 they had daurters named Ruby and Mable. I think Rosa was German and T.J Cherokee but can’t find any info on any of them.

Query: Looking for Sarah A. Martin born sometime in the 1850’s, married Samuel Edward Harvill-3 chld. Sam Jr. Margaret Susan. Susan Harvill married Wyatt Clouse, in 1881, William Turner in 1892 and Louis Nelson in the late 1890’s. Susan Harvill was born 3-10-1867 and died 8-10-1931. Buried in Huckabee Cemetary, Hope AR.

Query: My great-grandparents are Mary Ann Potter married to John Richard Brown. She died on the Trail of Tears on the banks of the Missouri River. Query: I am looking for JULIE/JULIA HARRIS. She was born in 1870 in Tennessee. Her parents were born in North Carolina. She married Francis (Frank) Marion Van Meter in Ga. She died in Ga. and is buried there. Query: I am looking for information on Susan/Susanna Miers Johnson. She was born in GA around 1799 and then her family shows up in AL 1820-1840. She married a Johnson somewhere around 1820. We are told that the Johnson she married was a Indian. They had at least 6 children that we know of. John, David, Andrew J., Matilda, Selena Emmiline. All of the children were born in AL. They lived in Pickens County, St. Clair County, Tuscaloosa County.

Query: Our Reason Bell was born in South Carolina in 1817. His occupation (according to family documents) was a trader with the Cherokee Indians. Around 1836/1837 he married a Cherokee Indian woman, given to him for his kindness and help in hiding a group of Cherokee in the North Georgia mountains. Reason Bell is not listed on any of the rolls. Neither can we find his wife’s family listed as we have little to go on to her last name. It is reported by others that her name was Donovan or Donaldson but we have no documentation on this. We only know her as Louisa. We know his family was in Georgia (Gilmer County) in 1850 but have not been able to find his prescence prior to that time. Any help is appreciated in finding clues to who Louisa was.

Query: I am searching for any information on LEAR BELL WHITEDOVE GABBARD (1870-1964). She was adopted from a Cherokee indian reservation. She is said to be full-blooded. She later married my great, great grandfather Abe Griffen.(about 1883). They married when she was 13 or 14 and had 14 children together. Any information would be a great asset to our family.

Query: Can anyone here help me with some information? My GG Grandmothers father was a Griffin. He was born abt: 1820/21 in Martin Co. NC. It has been passed down through different branches in our family that he was full blood cherokee. Living with his family in the 1850 census was a boy with the surname Cone. Also, living in the dwellings beside him on that same census page were Griffins that were listed as mulattos, with the surname Brewer living in their household. Also, the surname Harris in the same area. His daughter married a Harris from the same area. I’ve found online that Griffin, Brewer, Harris were Saponi surnames. How would i find more genealogy info on the Saponi tribe? And does anyone here have these surnames in their families? Thanks, RL

Query: I am looking for information on my father’s birth family. He was born Joseph James Holden in Greenville, Mississippi on December 10, 1913. I believe his mother was Sarah Frances Holden who soon after his birth married James Davis. A sister was born about 1916. Her name was Sarah Frances Davis. Both were adopted about 1918 or 1919. Sarah Frances by a family named Wheelis in Mississippi and my father by Eston and Althea Wood in Iuka, Mississippi. Daddy recalled a couple young cousins when he was first placed in the orphanage. Query: I have been told my paternal ancestors were from Western NC. One of my grandfathers supposedly deeded the land that is the reservation in NC now. He was a minister and had something to do with Mars Hill College. I am trying to find more on what I can remember hearing while growing up.
