Query: I am researching my family history but cannot find anything about my g-g-g grandmother who was reportedly a Cherokee indian named Emaline (or Emmaline). She was married to John REED and I would guess they were born somewhere between 1815-1838. John and Emaline had at least one son named Lloyd REED who later married Adella CURRY(b.1853.) The later descendents have resided in Pocahontas Co. West Virginia. If you have any information on John REED or Emaline, please let me know!

Query: My great great grandfather was Buck Brown and could have been William Buck Brown. His Indian heritage was from the Chickasaw tribe. He lived near Healdton, Oklahoma between 1880 and 1890. He was a preacher and was shot and killed on a reservation around 1890. Please contact me if you have any info on my great great grandfather and his wife and/or children. Buck Brown had two sons named George & Simeon and three daughters named Sarah Francis, Mineola, & Nona. Buck Brown’s wife’s name may have been Martha or Sarah. Buck’s daughter Sarah Francis Brown married my great grandfather, Albert Dewitt Worley and he was also a preacher.

Query: I’m looking for any possible information on the Brenner Family. I’m looking for either a Robert or Michael Brenner. I’m sure its Michael but we dont know. Query: I am looking for any information on my great G’ma’s parents. Her maiden name was Cora L JONES, married name was Cora L MASSEY. Born around 1891-1892 in Missouri. Spouse was Eli MASSEY. Born around 1875 possiably in Missouri. Was told he was adopted. The only information on her parents I have is they were born in Missouri. I am looking for names and any other information. I was told Cora was full Cherokee, and I would like to see if her parents were registered on any of the rolls. If anyone could help me out, it would be great!

Query: My father has always talked about his Indian grandmother, but doesn’t have any information about her. His father, George Engel, passed away when he was very young and his mother refused to have my father and his siblings have any contact with his fathers side of the family. All I know is that they were from a North Dakotan tribe and my father grew up in Valley City ND and my grandmother left the “reservation” after my grandfather died. I also know my grandfather, George, had a twin brother who later moved to Minnesota. How can I find out about my Indian heritage with so little information? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The story goes that the child who’s parents died while on The Trail of Tears was Grandpa Durhams Mother, she was adopted by white people. I’m not sure what her Indian name was. Query: I am looking for information on two family names McCombs (Sidney McCombs or Forest McCombs) and Rodgers (Rogers). Both are names from my father’s parents. Query: I’m told my Cherokee ancestry is linked to a Chief Rogers. He had two daughters. One married a man by the name of Ansley. When she died (perhaps in child birth) Ansley married the other daughter. They had a daughter which they named Bessy Mae who later married a man named James Evert Reynolds. James and Bessie Reynolds were my grandparents from my mothers side. Query: I am searching for my birth father Alfred Eugene Thompson a Cherokee from the Oklahoma or Arkansas area. He and my mother Nancy was moving to Oklahoma when he came up missing. I have never seen him or had any contact with him my mother would never tell me much about him but the rest of the family did and said he is a nice man. Gene has some spider tattoos on his hands and some names I do not remember. I am trying to learn of the rest of my family since my mother passed away a few years ago. I am not shur but Genes mother may have been somthing like Gieneveve I have heard this name before and not shur but I think it was my gradmothers name. Query: I am looking for my birth father Alfred Eugene Thompson. My mother told me he is a Cherokee and from Oklahoma or Arkansas area. I know of some of the tattoos he has and want more than anything to meet the rest of my family. Query: I am trying to find out if my great grandmother Jenny Glenn-Bates is on the Cherokee Rolls somewhere. Tillman Bates paid $25 or $35 to marry her in Union, Kentucky or so the family story goes. She was Cherokee indian and he had to pay for her. There were on the Trail of Tears and Tillman died in Mayflower, Arkansas. Any help would be great.

Query: I am searching for info on my Birth Mother. Her name was EDNA and she was born in the summer of 1925. She was of Irish and Cherokee Indian decent. She had dark wavy hair, hazel eyes with very long eyelashes and a very good posture. Her mother died when she was 5 and hr father died when she was 11. She was raised by her maternal grandmother on a farm near a big city somewhere in Ohio. Edna was born in a Midwestern state. I was told the EVANS was a family name. This may have been her grandmothers last name. Also, her great-great grandmother was full blood Cherokee Indian. No Cherokee names known. All I know is Irish & Cherokee married somewhere along the line. Edna liked to read and sew and did not like sports much. She lived in Miami, FL from 1942 through 1947. I was born in 1945 in Miami, FL. Edna only had a 7th grade education and worked as a bar maid, waitress, babysitter, housekeeper and elevator operator while in Miami, FL. She was married (not to my BFather) shortly after she placed me for adoption in 1946. Was said to have moved back to her home state after my adoption was final in 1947. Does anyone know of her?

Query: Looking for any information of the family of Mary Jane ROGERS and husband Thomas GRAY. They had one son, James Franklin GRAY born in 1869. Only other date I have to go on is the Searcy County AR Census of 1870 stating she was 34 years old borne in AR and he was 48 borne in MO. Mary Jane ROGERS was Cherokee, James Franklin applied for I.T. and was accepted but lost his wife at the same time and did not go. James Franklin also lost his mother Mary Jane at the age of two. Can anyone help me?
