Query: I am trying to trace my Cherokee heritage. I only have a very little information and I am not even sure that the information is correct. My ggrandmother was said to be full blooded Cherokee Indian. Her name was Annie Haire and was said to be from Temperhill, NC. She married a man by the name of Joe Kelley (Kelly) who apparently took the name of Glass. I am not sure if he took the new name before they were married or not. He was from Babcock, GA. They had eight children most of which I assume lived in GA. If anyone can shed some light on any of this information or if anyone knows where I can begin to look, please write me and let me know.

There are many Stills on the Dawes, Guion-Miller, and Full Blood Rolls, but I am unable to trace back this far without more info on my grandfather. I also understand that both his parents were Stills - cousins often married. Also, many Native Americans also took "English names," along with their original tribal name. Query: I supposedly have Cherokee and/or Blackfoot heritage on both sides of my family. According to my mother she had a grandmother (don't know how many "greats" are in front of it) who was a Cherokee princess. I know my maternal grandparents names and d.o.b.'s. They are William Woodrow Bowser born 1/26/1921 or 1922 in Rome, GA. and Elaine Mary Pallardy born 12/01/21. I do not know where she was born. My great grandparents on her side were Alice Fritz and Joseph Pallardy.
