My great great grandmother was full blooded Cherokee, Mamie Armstrong, which is her married name. My grandmother have know record of her maiden name. She was lived in August, Arkansas between 1890-1916 when my great grandmother was born Alberta Armstrong which later married Deer Estes. My maternal grandmother is Ethel Douglas born 11/24/34 to Alberta Armstrong & Columbus Douglas, who later married Charles W. Ewing, my paternal grandfather, who is now deceased. I researched Ewing which is an Irish name. He is now deceased 1929-2008.

I, too, have Armstrong ancestors, though I don’t recall any of the first names in your post.
My Armstrongs came out of Tennessee and went into Arkansas and then into Oklahoma.
Cherokee was also supposed to be in our family. Surnames: Armstrong, Cole, and Thorn.
