Cherokees in/from Knott county, Kentucky

I have been told my deceased mother Bobbie Jean Adams was 1/2 Cherokee.My grandma then was full blooded.Lived in Knott county, KY.Bobbie was from an affair between my grandmother & Dana Adams.He raised my mother. Mom told us where to find our grandma,& my 3 sisters & I went to see her back in the summer of 1976.She had other grown kids too. Aunts & uncles we’ve never met.The name eludes my sisters & I this much later in life. But it has always bugged me.I have no name to research, just a memory of a beautiful,full blooded Cherokee woman w/ long black hair in Knott county,KY.If the names I have mentioned ring a bell for you, or you know anything about Cherokees in Knott county, KY., please let me know.
