I am a descendant of Elias Plummer Sanders of Hartwell, Hart County, Georgia. I’ve been told he was Cherokee. He was born in 1775 in North Carolina. He died in 1872 in Hart County, Georgia. He married Mary Carter, daughter of Thomas Carter and Mary Elizabeth Chilton about 1795. Any information on this subject would be greatly appreciated.
