Susan Hawkins Raines

I am looking for information about my ggg-grandmother. She was born in 1823and died 1909. She was married to my ggg-grandfather James Raines. She was married before and widowed but we don’t know her first husband name. She had a 5 year old son, John, when he married James. She is suppose to have been from north Georgia. It has been told through the generations that this line was Cherokee. She lived most of her life in Carbon Hill, Walker County, Alabama. This is also a Cherokee area. Does anyone have any info on her or are you able to verify she was Cherokee?
