Melitta/Matilda/Melinda Rising Star of Running Star

My dad has told me some family lore about our ancestors. Apparently, my GGGGGGrandad James Rambo married a Native American by the name of Melitta/Matlida/Melinda Rising Star of Running Star. She got in a lot of trouble with her father for this and he disowned her. They had 9 kids and lived in the GA, MS, TN, and AL. She was born around 1785 in NC, but my dad said that he thought her father was from SD, ND, or even Montana – somewhere north. He also thinks she may have been Blackfoot, but someone told me the “Star” name is most Cherokee? This does explain where some of the Native DNA comes from, but I would love to hear this story in a complete/historical form rather from a “family-lore” one. 🙂
