There is a John Lewis Ash who married a Mariah Phipps and had a son named George Mick Ash, born in Texas in 1887. Is this the lineage you are looking for?
This family was not fullblood Indian though. They were from Texas settler roots. They only moved into Oklahoma during Land Rush era, and had no affiliation with any tribe in the territory. John’s parents were Jacob and Georgia “Edy” (Bynum) Ash.
“The farming community of Ash, Texas was founded in 1870 and named for James Benjamin Ash, a young community leader. His father Jacob E. Ash arrived in the Republic of Texas, from Pennsylvania, in January 1838. On January 4, 1839, Jacob was given a land grant of 640 acres. The Land Grant document states that he was widowed at the time.”
Jacob’s family were from European settler roots, from Pennsylvania. Georgia was from Alabama, and was descended from Bynum families that had moved into Creek lands when tribes ceded territory in that state. They were White settlers that had early colonial roots.
