Emma Hicks

I have certain data on Emma Hicks (she was born in Tennessee according to the 1880 census, which has her married to Benjamin F. Johnson with 2 children, thus far, living in District 12, Knox, TN), but her line is a complete enigma. What residence records, that show she was married to Benjamin F Johnson, that she had children with him, that I know are accurate. Publication Title: Knoxville, Tennessee, City Directory, 1888.

He was born in Missouri, according to the 1880 census. 1851 and passed in 1887. I have them as having 4 children, John A. Johnson (b.1878), Mary A. Johnson (b.1880), Rufus. C. Johnson (b.1881- d.1948), and Herbert F. Johnson (b.1887).

I have found that a John Hicks (1828-1901) born in KY married to a “Susan Flory”, had an Emma (daughter) also born in KY, around the same birth year (1856)….though I am uncertain, on whether this could be her, since the 1880 census says she was born in Tennessee.

I would really like to know the names of Emma Hicks parents and any other lineage which may be available. I ask here, because I have exhausted all other portals. My family knows of native ancestry, and all other branches seem to have most of the answers to them, but this enigma, has me believing that Emma Hicks, may very well be my native grandmother.
