Elbert Lee Martin was born 4/21/1956 – 6/1/2006. I am directly related to this man although I never met him. One of the few things I’d heard of him piqued my curiosity and has always kept me fascinated with Native American culture. It was said my biological father (Elbert Lee Martin) could not only speak, but write in Cherokee. Furthermore, either his father or grandfather was a chief, or some other authoritive figure. Anyhoo, this is something that’s always plagued my mind and any help would be appreciated. Thanx!

Need more info than you provided. He’s not old enough to be on the last 1940 US Census that has been released. Nor his he old enough to be on any roll. Therefore, the names of his parents (one or both -better) plus where they lived. DOB/DOD for them would be a big help too.
