I am a Tucker trying to unravel the Tucker, Pierce, Smith, etc Family connection.
Facts: Nancy Elizabeth Pierce married Cassander Warden Smith.
Their children: Mary Ellen Smith, Minnie Love Smith and Annie Virgina Smith .
Mary Ellen Smith married James Melvin Tucker. Minnie Love Smith married a Harris; and, Annie became a Bowdoin.. James Melvin Smith was the son of John Alfred Pierce Tucker, J. A. P. Tucker /The Tucker’s left Alabama and came to Texas by boat and wagon/oxen from Shreveport, La. They settled near Lindale Smith County Texas. John A.Pierce (son of Daniel Peterson Tucker) was a cabinet maker, He married first Elizabeth C. Haney on September 15, 1863 in Coosa County, Alabama. Their first son, Daniel died. John Alfred Pierce
Tucker served in the CSA.. He lost his first wife who was the mother of John William Tucker. He then married Georgia C. Chappell and had 2 sons, James Melvin and Daniel Henderson Tucker. The Tucker Family migrated to Texas from the Summer of 1869 to sometime in 1870. Most of this later group is buried at the Lindale City Cemetery or nearby Smith County. Mary Ellen Smith and James Melvin Tucker had 9 children.
Among them was Charlie Warden Tucker. He married Christine Lee Gensen on May 22, 1922.. Their union was blessed with four children: Maud Ellen, Jearl Lee, Alice Viola, and Charles Ray Tucker..From this union two children and four grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren. Although some parts of these families are well documented, there are still a few missing pieces to the puzzle. If your life’s journey connected with ours I would love to touch base and see if we are indeed one big, gigantic happy family. May the Great Spirit guide your path. Not sure at this point whether we are of the same Tucker family, but we might be. I have names of possible ancestors. Please message back if you are interested.
Thank you,
