Hi. My 7 generations back great-grandmother was Margaret. She was born in 1755 and died in South Carolina in 1805. She married an Irish man named William McWatters. In my research, I have found conflicting information that she was either full-blood Cherokee or full-blood Choctaw nation.
I am also related to a man named Marion Linzie Sizemore, who went by the name of “Fox.” He was born in Kentucky in 1820 and died in Oklahoma in 1914. He was my 4 generations back great-grandfather. I was always told by my grandfather that to his knowledge, “Fox” was full-blood Cherokee, Creek, or Blackfoot nation.
Does anyone know anything that might help me in my search for answers and connections in my family tree? I have used many online sites, but I always reach dead ends eventually. I would love to be accepted by a tribe one day. My native american heritage is important to me.
Thanks for any help you can give!
