Neal & Medford Cherokee

I was adopted in Texas when I was 8 days old, no knowledge of birth parents / family. 3 years ago, when I was 60, my wife bought the Ancestry DNA test. Sent it in, results gave me my Family name of Neal, but parents had passed. I found out that my father & his family are registered Cherokee. Now all I can do is look for / find my Cherokee ancestry & info.
Looking for info on my birth father & family. Here is all I know about him:
Name: William Bernard ‘Dusty’ Mefford NEAL
BORN: 9 April 1920
Birthplace: Nitro, Kanawha, West Virginia
Parents: Eugene Franklin Neal & Laura Ellen Mefford
Last residence: Wichita Falls, Wichita, Texas
Died: 5 May 1995, at age 75

I do NOT have any Cherokee registration #s or information from any Rolls.
