Cherokee Indian

August 1, 2021 by Valann Leave a Comment

I have been doing my family tree and I am looking for information on my Great Grandmother,Leveniah Malissa Daugherty, born 11-22-1878 and died 10-7-1969.Her parents were Daniel David James Daugherty and Elizabeth “Betty” Prater. She lived in Jamboree,Phelps,Pike County,Kentucky and died there also.In the census’s,her name was spelled many different ways,Malina,Lebrisa,Mallisia,Malisa, Malvina.I was told she was Cherokee Indian, but what percentage I do not know, but have never been shown proof by any family members.I have looked online but have gotten nowhere with my search.I would love to find out for sure so I can move on with the rest of my family tree search.Thank you for your time and for reading this query and I hope that someone can help me.
