February 5, 2022 by ktener 1 Comment

Is there a site that I can read the actual 1896 application for enrollment and those that were overturned. I am seeking information about Elizabeth Jones

At Ancestry.com, you can pull up the actual packets used to adjudicate those decisions (or people who needed more proof). It is named the: U.S., Native American Applications for Enrollment in Five Civilized Tribes and you will need to know the roll number of the person you are searching for. Roll numbers can be found on one or more of several Native American censuses that are also searchable. Very interesting reading.
