Ladique of “Big Island” on Terrapine River in NE Alabama

I am trying to track down this individual and his immediate family. He is the grand-father of Israel Jacob Brown (who was 1/2 Cherokee), and we have reason to believe his mother was the daughter was Ladique. Israel Jacob Brown married Nella Pitts of SC, and resided in Shelby, AL in 1830 before they moved west with the Cherokee Nation (they both died in MS). Y-DNA testing is done and indicates Israel Jacob’s father was R-M269 (European background). Ladique had land on the Terrapin River (Creek?) in Alabama; specifically “Big Island” which we believe is near present day Centre, AL.
