I am researching Con or Kahn Parris who lived in Dade County, Georgia during slavery and was held in captivity by a slaveholder in Dade County until emancipation. He was Cherokee. I think he might be part of the family of George Parris who lived in the area around that time. Dade County sits in the upper western corner of Georgia and is on the Tennessee border. He lived in later days near present day Wildwood near Chattanooga. He married a woman from Alabama and had several sons. One son was Cain Parris. We believe the Con could stand for Colonel, but could be Kahn or something like that. I would appreciate any insight.
