Query: I’m looking for any information on my grandmother, 6 generations back. Her name was Jane (aka: INDIAN JANE, Nancy Jane, Jane HUBBARD). She was born around 1740, her birth parents(who were full blood Cherokee) were killed in a raid sometime before the trail of tears leaving her an orphan. She was adopted by Joseph HUBBARD who named her Jane (he gave her no last name). She had 12 children with Charles RAKES, no marriage record. I would like to find out when she died, where she is buried and hopefully who her parents were.

Query: My grandmother was Irene Elizabeth FIELDS (Pannell) b. 1907- d.1995. her father was George Washington Fields Jr. And Georgia Elizabeth Wilcox. (We aren’t sure of her last name) Irene’s father passed when she was 3 yrs old. She was the oldest of 3 children. Her baby brother passed away at just 3 mos old, a month after her father passed. They died of influenza. Jr’s father was George Washington Fields and his mother was Parmelia Yannels. She was his 2nd or 3rd wife. Sr. Ended up having several wives and 12 children. It is believed that my great grandparents came from Georgia to OK (Cherokee territory) via the Trail of Tears. My Gma was born in Cherokee Territory in OK. She died in Gridley, CA. Irene married Minor Cap PANNELL and moved to Arkansas, before she moved to California in the 1940s. They had 4 children together. There are many George Washington Fields, so its hard to figure out which one he was. My cousin and I are just searching for information to know more about our heritage. Thank you.
