Hello! My father had been adopted when he was 5 yrs old. We met his biological father in the 1980s. This man stated that the reason my father (and his sister) were put in an orphanage (in the early 1940s) is because his wife, my dad’s biological mother, “kept running away back to the reservation”.

I was one of many, clearly, who grew up with the story of having native american ancestry.
