Hi! I’ve been doing my family tree, and its been difficult because I’ve always been told both of my great grandmothers were part/half Cherokee. Both from Alabama. Lilie Knox Powell born 1886, and Gladys Vera (parents were Ed and Sini Ruth) born 1890. I have no idea where to start especially since these are their maiden and married names to black men. where should I start?
