Hi! Another researcher and I are Thornhill’s. I just let her know about this note of yours, because she has some of the same names. My line connects…way back…however, you say you have a Mack Thornhill. I have two Mack Thornhill’s, my Dad Mack Thornhill Jr (no middle name) and his Dad…James Mastus “Mack” Thornhill. I do NOT have any of the other names in my immediate Mack line. I, too, have heard the “found on the trail” story, but, have not proven in records, as there is proof of the Thornhill’s marrying Native American’s in our lines. My immediate Thornhill’s married the Roberts/ Redding / Stewart lines and they, too, have Native Cherokee. The other researcher is going to contact you. Maybe you guys can figure out something. She thinks you are a cousin of hers somewhere, close. :). Take Care! Kay Thornhill Collins

Hello,
Another researcher, Kay Thornhill Collins contacted me last weekend saying that she Googled Cherokee Heritage for herself & she found my Family Tree on Ancestry.com. It led her to this website. I have been searching for my Cherokee Heritage as well for a long time. My father & Aunts & Uncles all told me that we have Cherokee blood in our family. I know it is hard to find Native American Blood in our Ancestry. But I am noticing that Lydia Pearl Thornhill (Helms) is your grandmother. And your mother is Lydia Pearl’s daughter? Her name is Patricia. Lydia Pearl is my aunt. My father was her brother. I knew Lydia Pearl as “Aunt Pearl” and I knew Patricia as “”Patsy” we grew up together for awhile. I have a John Isaac Smith Thornhill in my Ancestry. He was my Great Grandfather. I would love to hear from you. My name is Deana Reich. Thornhill is my maiden name & I grew up in Missouri. My father was John Thornhill. It truly sounds like we are 2nd cousins. If you have any information regarding the Cherokee relationship, I would so appreciate it. By the way, was your Aunt named Lucritia? If so we are definitely related. I have Stewart in my line as well. And I have Wilkinson. My grandmother was Wilkinson. I look forward to hearing from you. As well as Kay Thornhill Collins. If you can help us, we would so appreciate it lots!
