Our Grandmother, Gertrude Barnett Davis was orphaned at around age 14, and we’ve not been able to trace beyond her parents, Jane Warren Barnett and her husband William Barnett. Gertrude was born in 1903 in Indian Territory/Oklahoma. (Gertrude’s daughter, Lola Davis Mayes was born in Anadarko, OK in 1928). Family tradition was that Jane was at least half Native
American and perhaps Cherokee. Any help is appreciated!
