We are possibly related. My father is Ricky F Powell born 1953 Washington. My grandfather is Everett F Powell born 1926 Hartshorn Oklahoma. My great grandparents are Jesse F Powell born 1896 Cravens OK and Velma Mae Ross born 1904 Arkansas. My great great grandparents on Ross side are John Ross and Pearl Ivy Heis. John Ross’s father was also named John Ross. My family is from Georgia, Alabama, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Texas, and Washington.

Commodore Ross was my grandmother’s brother. My grandmother was Bessie (Bettie) Ross. Andrew Ross was my 3rd great grandfather, George Lowery Ross was my great grandfather.
Commodore’s mother’s name is Ruth, after commodore’s mother and father divorced Ruth married a man named Marion Evan’s. Commodore had a full sister named Betty.. so it sounds like we may be related.

Here’s a fun one; both John and Andrew are both my husband’s 4th grandfather. John’s grandson, Return Robert Meigs (1846-1938) married Andrew’s granddaughter, Jane P Ross (1851-1882). John-Jane-Return R. Andrew-Daniel-Jane. My husband’s great grandfather, Return Jonathan, is the son of Return Robert and Jane Polly. So, yes, he’s a descendant if you’d like any help with his part of the line.
