Biddie Scrimsher

September 14, 2016 by darlines Leave a Comment

Looking for info on Biddie Scrimsher (Schrimsher). She was born around 1812 based on info from her tombstone. She married Wallace Creasman May 9, 1839 in Monroe County TN. Per info my great grandfather (Wallace Alexander Chaudoin) told my mother, Biddie (his grandmother) was Cherokee and married Wallace Creasman who was a soldier in the Indian Removal. We have verified Wallace was indeed a soldier during the Removal. No other info on Biddie has been located prior to her marriage to Creasman. Wallace Chaudoin’s mother was Mary Jane who was about 4-5 years old at the time Biddie married Creasman. Mary Jane married Byron Chaudoin in Hallettsville, TX. The family showed up on the 1850 census there. In addition to Wallace they had a daughter named Sophronia Angelina Chaudoin. She married James Newton Henderson and lived in the panhandle of OK.
