Brady & Braswell

July 28, 2016 by deyoung10 1 Comment

I am looking at our family history (oral history and family Bibles). Following up on my maternal grandparents who were supposed to be full blood Cherokee.

My maternal grandfather was James Madison Brady (11/12/1890 – 2/19/1970), was both in Militia Districts 371, 402, Polecat, Currahee, Habersham county, Georgia.

My maternal Grandmother was Mary Francis Braswell (aka Fannie Braswell) (1/30/1899 – 1/14/1980). She was born in Militia Districts 293, 365, Hillsboro, Lawrence Hillsboro village, Jasper, Georgia.

They were married 12/2/1917.

They lived on a farm outside of Coverdale, GA, and both passed away in Thomasville, GA.
