Cherokee in blood or not?

I was told that my grandmother, June Cole Allgeier’s mother Nancy Hensley was full blooded Cherokee, I can not find the link can anyone help me?

  1. I have 73 Nancy Hensleys in my family tree. If you can give me a little more info. They have birth dates from 1773 to 1960.

    I’d like to help if I can.

    There are many rumors about Hensley women who married men with or of Cherokee heritage.

    • Thank you. Nancy Hensley b. 2/18/1885 Harlan ky. She married John Cole. Her mother and father were Arminta “Minnie” and Calvin Hensley who had a water mill in Martin’s fork in Harlan ky

  2. Hi, my name is Jenna. My grandfather is John Parker, His mother was Mary Livine Cole and his grandmother was Nancy Hensley-Cole and John Cole. Do any of those names sound familiar? If so, there is Cherokee in the blood. Absolutely. I am 1/16 Cherokee. My grandfather, J.b. is 1/4. June would have been my grandfather’s Aunt I believe.

Can you tell me the bloodline story. I can’t find the definite proof. There was a rumor that Nancy was adopted by Calvin and arminta “Minnie” Hensley. Have you heard that
