Cherokee man in the area of Cambridge, UK, 1962

I know it’s a massive long shot, but I am doing research on my family origins. My mother grew up, in and out of social care and was told only, that her father was Cherokee (she was given no name). Her mother is white and always refused to name him. Just wondering, if anyone has/had an elder in their family, who would have been around Cambridge, UK in the early 60’s (1962 to be exact)
