My Grandmother on my fathers side Virginia H. Denham went by Jennie was Cherokee. She was born about 22 January 1882?? and died in 1926. She married O.T. Thomas. He is thought to be Blackfoot. He was born 22 January 1876. Jenny was born in Cave City, Barren County, Kentucky and died in Hoopston, Illinois. Jenny and OT were married in 1899 and they had 3 children Alton born in 1902,Raymond born in 1904, and my Grandmother Anabell born in 1905 August 15 in Tennessee. Anabell married a white man Seward Walker and they had William Everette Walker born 5 July 1924. He married Avonelle Ann Sanford and had me and 7 more children. Jennie’s parents were Sarah Elizabeth Parker and Elbert Denham both full blood Cherokee. Elbert ‘s parents were Alfred Denham and Lucinda. Alfred was born 1810 and Lucinda was born 1812?? If anyone could help me extend my family and help me prove my heritage I would appreciate it very much. I was told Elbert refused the Cherokee land grant because he already owned his own farm but I do not know if that is a fact or not. If any of them had Roll numbers I would love to have them. I have no idea what roll they would be listed on Anabell moved to Hawaii to live because I think she was ashamed of her native heritage. Please I hope someone can help me Thank everyone in advance for their time and trouble.
