September 1, 2015 by A_Smith92 10 Comments

I am looking for more information on Chief Lguana Parker (NA), wife is unknown. Has two children, his daughter’s name is Nancy Elizabeth (Parker) Cupp and his son is John David Parker. She was married to Daniel Perry Cupp. I would like any information on the Chief Lguana, his wife and his children, especially Nancy.

I am related to Chief Lguana Parker/Cherokee (My Great Great Grandfather). John David Parker(My Great Grandfather), John Oscar Parker(My Grandfather), Denver Parker (My Father), Julian Denver Parker (me). I can provide links to Daniel Perry Cupp. I too am searching for Cherokee Heritage/Lineage.

I would love the links you have for Daniel Perry Cupp! My research has been at a stand still since I have found some conflicting information, but that would help a lot.

Hi Julian – I am following this thread closely. My dad William Andrew Jr. always said there was Cherokee in the family. I’m happy to see I am on the right track with names. I don’t have any information on Daniel Perry Cupp either. My tree stops with him. I’d still love some pictures 🙂

My great great Grandfather was Daniel Perry Cupp, great Grandfather Andrew Jessie Cupp, & Grandfather Thomas Millard Cupp. I have a Cupp family tree on Ancestry any info you have I would love if you could share. We always heard that we had Cherokee in the family but as my grandfather died when my dad was a boy there was no way to check. I just had my brother do the DNA that Ancestry offers hopefully that will open some windows. Thanks Linda Cupp

        Hi Linda,
Daniel Perry Cupp would be my great great great Grandfather. I have little to no information on this line. My great great grandfather is John David Parker (Daniel Perry Cupps son), great grandfather is John Oscar Parker, grandfather is William Andrew Parker Sr., with my father William Andrew Parker Jr. I did the DNA test with Ancestry and had NO NA come back. But the percentage may have been too small. My paternal grandmother always told me there was Cherokee in the Parker line Are we sure of the Chiefs name? I can find no reference anywhere – as everything takes me to Quanah Parker, who of course is Comanche.

It’s been a long time, but someone suggested the name Iskagua who signed a treaty in Philadelphia in 1792.
