Descendant of Mary Viola Smith Pennsylvania

August 8, 2017 by Smith 1 Comment

I don’t know anything! Just found out I’m 1/4 Cherokee on my fathers side. His great grandmother was a smith who was full blooded cherokee. They apparently still own land there. I wanna know anything ! I just found my father 2 weeks ago. My grandmother was Mary Viola Smith. Maybe this isn’t enough info. Idk!

I just saw your post, I believe we may be of the same bloodline but possibly have a few names confused. I have Mary’s middle name as Edith and her brother Christian (my Grandfather) was married to Minnie Viola Moore Smith. And from what I have researched My Great Grandmother (Christians Mom) was half Cherokee, her mother was a full blooded Cherokee princess. I have found a couple of hand written accounts of this but am currently looking for “proof” online to see if this is really the case. I will post and let you know what I find.
