I am looking for more information on the ancestors of JAMES WILLIAM ERVIN ELGIN born abt 1871 and DELITHA E. SMITH born abt 1876 I believe these are the parents of my great grandmother – FLOSSIE MAY (MAE) ELGIN, born abt 1898 whom I am told was full Cherokee. She married a german man – Stephen Y. Overby (Overbey), born abt 1872. So far as I know my great grandparents were born in Indiana. However, I do not know where their parents lived before that or were born. Possible names of great great grandparents:
HENRY SMITH and ELIZA TAYLOR, no further info found on them. TIA!
