Between 1783 and into the. 1800’s there were Hesters living in and around Petersburg, Tennessee in Lincoln County (may have been Bedford at that time). There is a Hester Cemetery on Hannah’s Gap Road there that is very old. I believe that my ancestor ggggrandmother on the Paternal side was one Penelope Hester who married Matthias Nicholsl. Their daughter married Lemuel Bonaparte Welch and one of their children married a W. H. Hester. I know nothing about him. My ggggrandmother was born in South Carolina about 1785. She was not literate. That is about all I know. There are no Hesters living there now that I know of.

I share DNA with an Ailsey Nichols from North Carolina who has Indigenous DNA.
