May 31, 2016 by mmmfair 1 Comment

My GGG Grandfather was a half Cherokee named Simon Butler, he was born around 1776 in Indian Territory, in 1840 he is living in Wayne Co. KY with an older white woman, disappears in 1850, reappears in 1860 in Whitley Co. Ky. his wife or cohabitant was a Mary Frazier also known as Sally. He died in Pulaski Co. Ky around 1865-69. Been looking for his parentage for almost 40 years, please help if you can. Thanks M.Fair fairhaze@att.net, ps…his daughter Sarah E. Butler married Elijah Smith and lived in Adair Co. KY.

I’m going to the Oklahoma Historical Society in about a month. I’ll look it up and see what I can find. I can’t promise anything. The 18th century records are hard to come by.

    Sincerely,
    E Mc
