Lawson family (Cherokee) from Fanny Lawson

April 6, 2015 by cheryl_vanhorn 2 Comments

I am trying to find any information on my father’s mother (grandmother) Fanny Lawson and my other members of family from her side.  My father passed in 2008 (Ernest J Van Horn) and before this my only other family whom I looked like (native) was my Aunt Anna May Van Horn whose passed 2007 and her last name was Dykes when married.  I know that I look exactly like my grandmother and have pictures of her before she passed away during surgery due to thyroid disease.  I feel like my daughters and I are the last of Lawson clan that was flourishing in the 1920 era.  I have many questions that has to do about “being Cherokee” and “experiences” that I talked to my Aunt Anna May about before I lost both father and aunt.  I would appreciate any information about the above things.  Thank you Cheryl Van Horn
