Looking for info on my great grandmother Mattie Willis

She passed when I was very small I barely remember her. She is listed as Mattie Willis McCard on her grave. She was married to JH McCard and had 11 children she was born in the late 1800s passed in 1969? I remember visits to N.C but not much else beside what she told me about her dad was a great chief. And her Indian name was little snow dove and she was called Dovey by her husband most of her children were given Christian names but one named Bronza? My grandfather her son was Robert Melvin McCard his wife my grandmother was Elizabeth Bethrise McCullough better known as Lilly B. Any help at all would be great since I have hit a dead end.
